Messages on Open are moderated to ensure that Open can be a completely judgement-free, safe and honest environment. In order to preserve Open as a safe space, any content that infringes upon our Code of Conduct is flagged and removed from the app. Messages that contain: spam, mean or judgmental remarks, attempts at breaking anonymity, encouragement of illegal activities, advocating self-harm, or solicitation for sex will be flagged and removed from Open.
When a message has been flagged, an orange exclamation mark will appear next to that message, as well as a reason for the flagging. You'll also see the following notification appear at the bottom of the screen:
Once you tap the, "I understand" button, you can continue messaging within a conversation. Flagged messages are not visible to anyone else within the conversation.
Important note: Three flagged messages will result in a suspension from Open. That first suspension will last 24 hours in duration. Any additional flagged messages after the first suspension ends will impact additional suspensions in the future. For example, a second suspension will last 2 days, a third suspension will last 4 days, a fourth suspension will last 10 days and a fifth suspension will result in a permanent suspension from the platform.
If you think that your comment has been flagged in error, please send an email to our support team at: help@letsopen.co with your name and the phone number you have used to sign up so that our team can investigate. You can also write to us from within the Open app by tapping on your user-icon at the top-right corner of the screen and using the Contact Us section to draft a message to us:
Sending a message from the Contact Us section will include a unique 28-character identifier with your message that we'll be able to associate with your account.
Please remember that Open is a platform designed for users to express themselves honestly and authentically. Here, users can talk about all of the things they wish they could, but have hesitations doing. Imagine feeling supported by other people and genuinely connecting with them. This is why Open was developed and we hope you'll help in maintaining our compassionate, supportive community.
