Each conversation that you see on Open is coming from a friend (someone that has your phone number saved in their Contacts list) or friend of friend (someone in your friend's Contacts list). You can follow or participate in conversations that you're interested in, just be sure to keep the following in mind while chatting on Open:
Open is a place to be open, authentic and honest about yourself
You can use Open for:
- Personal stories, thoughts or feelings
- Questions or requests for help
- Commenting anonymously on other's posts
- Sharing everyday life thoughts
- Expressing yourself where you wouldn't be able to on public forums or social media platforms
Open’s users are kind, compassionate and empathetic towards others.
All users should follow these statements:
- Respond with empathy
- Be respectful of opposing views, even during disagreements
- Keep the conversations supportive and constructive
- Offer help and useful advice if it’s possible
On Open, there is zero tolerance for behavior that is mean, judgmental, hateful, or rude
We do not allow the following:
- Using inappropriate, disrespectful, or hurtful language
- Being excessively critical or disrespectful to different views
- Harassment
- Encourage self-harm, suicide or promoting violence
- Identifying other users or members of the public by using names or descriptions so that your friends could identify them
- Soliciting sex or illegal materials
- Spam
- Posting external links
If you see messages in the Open app being flagged for violating Open's community guidelines a short explanation relating to one of the points above will be given. Repeated flagged messages may result in a short term or permanent suspension from using Open.
