Self-harm and suicide are topics that should be taken very seriously. Under no circumstance does Open allow the advocacy for self-harm or encouragement of suicide. Open is an environment where users are supportive, constructive and empathetic towards one another. Please remember to treat everyone as a close friend.
It is also important to note that discussion around experiences of self-harm and suicidal thoughts is allowed on Open. Open was developed as a platform where users can express their inner-most thoughts and feelings, positive or negative. We expect our users to respond to these topics respectfully and maturely.
If you need to report a message that you believe to be in violation of our suicide and self-harm policy, you can tap-and-hold-down on a specific message to reveal an option for reporting that message. Our guide on Reporting Messages explains how that can be done in the app.
Please remember that posting multiple flagged messages may result in a temporary suspension from Open. Suspensions happen based on the total number of messages that have been flagged from your account. If you believe that your message has been flagged in error, please be sure to contact us directly at help@letsopen.co for review.
